April 18 saw the opening of the 6th International Specialized Exhibition for Laser, Optical and Optoelectronic Technologies– Photonica’2011. Lasers, Optics and Application.
At the opening ceremony Deputy Director General of Expocentre Mikhail P. Tolkachev welcomed the exhibition participants and visitors. Mr. Tolkachev noted that within a short period of time the exhibition had attained real authority as a show displaying the newest technologies.
In view of the attention the Russian Federation Government pays today to modernization and directing the economy to innovative development, this exhibition is bound to succeed, as Mikhail P. Tolkachev stated. This year the Photonica. Lasers, Optics and Application exhibition has grown by 1.5 times, bringing to Expocentre 150 exhibitors from 12 countries.
Laser Association President Ivan B. Kovsh also mentioned steady growth of Photonica and treated this fact as evidence of the industry’s favorable state. The exhibition has become traditional and really international.
The Photonica’2011. Lasers, Optics and Application stands display unique exhibits, as Vladimir N. Vasiliev, the Russian Optical Society President, Chairman of Photonica Technological Platform Coordinating Committee, noted. The Photonica technological platform is among the first technological programs recently confirmed by the Governmental Commission on High Technologies. By opening the 6th International Exhibition Photonica today we actually as well launch the like-named technological platform, Vladimir N. Vasiliev emphasized.
