The speaker spoke about the explosive growth of the global market: the laser market is expected to reach USD 32.08 billion by 2031, with an average annual growth rate of 6.96%. The main driver of the industry today is not the production of lasers themselves, but the creation of finished products and machine tools based on them.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;The main focus of the report was on the economic feasibility and the need for an integrated approach to automation. Nikolay Evtikhiev gave examples of successful technology implementation in the oil and gas sector and transport engineering. He stressed that today it is important not just to produce lasers, but to create complete solutions aimed at the end user.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&amp;ldquo;The end user is always important. We can make any kind of lasers, but if there is no equipment, why does the industry need a laser? You need a machine that does something, then you need a laser. The main achievement of recent years is the development of a new industry – laser engineering,&amp;quot; said Nikolay Evtikhiev.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;After the plenary session, there was a conference of the Laser Association. It was attended by heads and representatives of different LAS member organisations, LAS honorary members, individual LAS members, members of the Councils (Bureaus) of republican and regional LAS centers, and members of the Secretariat of the Technological Platform on Innovative Laser, Optical and Optoelectronic Technologies – Photonics.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;The central issues on the agenda are elections to the Board of National Experts of the CIS Countries on Lasers and Laser Technologies and summing up the results of the LAS competition for the best Russian development in the field of photonics.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;As part of the three-day conference programme, the 14th Congress of the Photonics Technological Platform features numerous scientific and practical conferences dedicated to various aspects of photonics. The show is organised by EXPOCENTRE AO jointly with the Laser Association with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;This year, more than 160 companies from Russia, Armenia, Belarus, and China are taking part in the show on an area of 7,000 square metres. There are 105 Russian companies presenting their innovative developments.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Photonics presents laser technologies for processing materials (cutting, welding, labelling, additive manufacturing), optical elements, systems and materials, new machines for their manufacture, optoelectronics, sensors, detectors, and artificial vision equipment.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;At the official opening ceremony, &lt;strong&gt;Denis Frantsuzov&lt;/strong&gt;, Vice President at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed that the events of the Photonics conference programme give a great opportunity not only to talk about the achievements of the industry, but also to exchange questions and problems, discuss the challenges, and at the same time, identify ways to interact with government authorities, partners, and business and industry associations.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Sergey Popov&lt;/strong&gt;, Deputy General Director for R&amp;amp;D at Shvabe, the Head of the Priority Technology Area for Optoelectronics and Photonics, said that this is the 20th time his company participates in Photonics.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&amp;ldquo;Considering that the show is international, we once again have an opportunity to exchange opinions and see what various companies are famous for. These companies can be both well-known and small that are just entering the market,&amp;rdquo; said Sergey Popov,&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Nikolay Evtikhiev&lt;/strong&gt;, President at the Laser Association, noted that recently there had been a very rapid and serious leap from developments to their practical implementation in industry, science, medicine, etc.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&amp;ldquo;If you walk through the show, you can see that, unlike at previous shows, the number of pieces of equipment that is already used in production has significantly increased,&amp;rdquo; said Nikolay Evtikhiev.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Zhu Xiao&lt;/strong&gt;, Honorary President at the Laser Association of Hubei Province (China), said that his company had been working closely with Russian colleagues and the Laser Association for the past two decades.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&amp;ldquo;We have achieved great success together. In particular, last year we completed work on a trilingual dictionary on photonics in Russian, English, and Chinese. Having a single standardized language in our industry is extremely important,&amp;rdquo; said Zhu Xiao.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Ivan Kovsh&lt;/strong&gt;, Honorary President and Advisor to the Board at the Laser Association, reminded that the first Photonics was launched at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds in 2025.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&amp;ldquo;At that same time, we signed the first cooperation agreement with our Chinese colleagues. Since then, we have not only attended each other\&#039;s events, but also exchanged ideas, created joint ventures and projects. But Photonics is not only about hardware and technologies, it is also about networking, brainstorming and search for partners. Economists have calculated that the market of photonic products will amount to approximately one trillion dollars this year. Photonics affects various fields of knowledge and technologies. For the same number of years the Hubei association has been participating in Photonics. He spoke in favour of expanding the partnership between Russia and China for the development of the laser industry.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Ivan Kovsh&lt;/strong&gt;, President at the Laser Association, said that this April marks two dates. It is the 35th anniversary of the Laser Association, which was established in Moscow in 1990, and 20 years since Photonics was launched at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds. The exhibition is a mirror of the industry. Once it was more scientific than practical. But today photonics is a powerful industry with a huge production volume. The system is designed to study different types of holography: Fresnel, Fourier, two-phase holography, and algorithmic processing of holograms.  &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;ul&gt;  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Laser welding in extreme conditions&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/li&gt;  &lt;/ul&gt;  &lt;p&gt;LASERCUT will demonstrate the Wattsan 4-in-1 G2 laser welding machine, which has been successfully tested at -30 °C in Antarctica. The equipment is used at the Bellingshausen polar station. The company\&#039;s specialists trained the station\&#039;s personnel in laser technologies in just one day.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;ul&gt;  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Rangefinders for UAV detection&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/li&gt;  &lt;/ul&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Special Systems. Photonics will introduce laser rangefinders capable of locating UAVs, objects on the ground and critical distances from 5 metres to 25 kilometres. The rangefinders are used in ground vehicles and defence applications.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;ul&gt;  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;High &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;speed &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;camcorders&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/li&gt;  &lt;/ul&gt;  &lt;p&gt;General Optics will introduce a new powerful video camera NEO 25M/C-RU, which is capable of capturing up to 1,000,000 frames per second. Thanks to the new backlight sensor technology, the camera captures dynamic processes with maximum detail. The device is used in ballistics, defence industry, and research and test laboratories.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;ul&gt;  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Hyperspectral cameras for analysis and quality control&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/li&gt;  &lt;/ul&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Azimuth Photonics will demonstrate the Specim FX17 (950-1,700 nm) and FigSpec FS23 (400-1,000 nm) hyperspectral cameras. These cameras are used in materials science, remote sensing, spectral analysis, and product quality control.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;ul&gt;  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Optical interference filters&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/li&gt;  &lt;/ul&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Girikond will show a new series of FOI-1 infrared filters that highlight the 2-20 µm spectral range. They are used in infrared optoelectronics systems, instrumentation, and scientific research.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;ul&gt;  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Laser modules for precise measurements&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/li&gt;  &lt;/ul&gt;  &lt;p&gt;LLS will present 1,535/1,570 nm laser modules that provide measurements up to 20 km with an accuracy of less than 5 metres. These systems are eye-safe and designed for navigation, target designation, and geodesy.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Conference programme&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;The show is accompanied by a large-scale conference programme including key events such as:&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;ul&gt;  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;the 13th Congress of the Photonics Technological Platform&lt;/strong&gt;; leading researchers and experts will present reports on key areas of photonics, discuss the achievements and prospects of the industry. The interferometer guidance system provides an error of no worse than 1–2 arc sec.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;    The developed software package allows remote control of all the device systems both in manual and automatic modes for measuring the surface shape of optical products and graphical representation of information.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;    FTI-100 features:&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;ul&gt;  &lt;li&gt;regular bayonet mount for standards (4-inch);&lt;/li&gt;  &lt;li&gt;operation in both vertical and horizontal positions;&lt;/li&gt;  &lt;li&gt;wide-angle visual adjustment and tuning system;&lt;/li&gt;  &lt;li&gt;control of aspherical optics using synthesized holograms;&lt;/li&gt;  &lt;li&gt;remote control of all units of the device from a computer;&lt;/li&gt;  &lt;li&gt;complete with high-quality diffraction standard lenses for testing spherical and aspherical surfaces;&lt;/li&gt;  &lt;li&gt;delivery: optical unit, phase shift unit with a unit for mounting and adjusting standards, computer with pre-installed software.&lt;/li&gt;  &lt;/ul&gt;  &lt;p&gt;    Fast nanometric contactless control of the surface shape of manufactured optical parts is relevant in modern optical production.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;    The Russian industry does not mass-produce universal interferometers able to control both spherical and aspherical surfaces of optical parts.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;    The existing interferometer products of foreign companies are expensive.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;    &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;    At Photonics 2025, Diffraction will present a universal laser interferometer FTI-100PS for precision control of optical products in laboratories of optical industry enterprises with an output beam diameter of 102 mm, a radiation source with a wavelength of 632.8 nm (HeNe laser), adjustable magnification of the object up to 6x, a variable phase shift unit, a control computer and software (SW) for remote control of the interferometer and analysis of interferograms.
