Post Release of the International Specialized Exhibition Photonics’2012. World of Lasers and Optics
The key event in the laser and optic industry of Russia has become the 7th International Specialized Exhibition for Laser, Optical and Optoelectronic Technologies – Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics'2012 – one of the leading innovative projects of Expocentre Fairgrounds, which is co-organized by the Laser Association. The exhibition was held within the Innovative Russia Week on 17 – 20, April in Pavilion No. 7 (Halls Nos.1, 2) of Expocentre Fairgrounds.
The European Optical Society, the Technological Center Association of German Engineers, the State Committee on Science and Technologies of Republic of Belarus, Physical Department of Moscow State University gave the support and assistance to the exhibition, which was held also under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and the Moscow City Government.
The logos of UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, and RUEF – the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, testify to the high status and prestige that the exhibition has won over the seven years.
The Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics'2012 exhibition has become more attractive for the manufacturers, developers, representatives of business community and potential customers of the equipment and technologies. It represented innovative technologies and solutions embodied in a wide range of devices ready for batch production, as well as the perspective innovations, which develops future technologies.
This year the Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics'2012 exhibition is attended by Russian and foreign experts of the industry. Pavilion No. 7 (Halls Nos.1, 2) represented the expositions of 139 companies from 11 countries: Germany, China, Lithuania, the Netherlands, the Republic of Belarus, Russia, USA, Ukraine, France, Switzerland, and Sweden. National expositions were presented by Germany and China.
Among the debutants of the exhibition are also Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems Cutting Edge (USA), Optronics (USA), One Five (Switzerland), Shenzhen LCF Technology (China), Qioptiq Photonics (Germany), Raylase (Germany), Toptica Photonics (Germany), Trioptics (Germany), Sun creative technologies (China), Synrad Europe (Germany).
103 Russian manufacturers of laser and optic equipment and technologies participated in the exhibition Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics'2012. Among them are Lasernyi Center, Centre of laser technologies LLC, LaserMark (Elmark), Maxwell Photonix, Uran, Solar TII and others.
The exposition of the achievements in the field of laser technology, optics and optoelectronics was allocated on the total area of 5 852 sq. m. The exhibition enjoyed 6 600 visitors, 96% of whom were industry professionals. The total amount of visits made up 7 420.
Business related program of the exhibition Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics'2012 was focused on the interests of participants and visitors, the discussion of the specific problems and search of ways of their solution.
In 2011 Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics'2012 featured the Technological Platform Project Photonica, which developed the strategic program aimed at the realization of a complex of tasks on the modernization and implementation of perspective developments for the country.
This year the main event of the exhibition was the 1st Congress on Technology Platform – Photonica. The Congress is organized by the Laser Association, which is the sponsor and coordinator of the Technological Platform – Photonica.
The reports of representatives of state structures, well-known scientists and analysts were made at the plenary meeting. They generalized the goals and objectives, and specified the possibilities of this project.
Eleven working groups participated in the thematic sessions of the Congress devoted to the main development trends and use of laser and optical technologies. They are Element Base of Photonics, Photonics in Geodesy and Navigation, Commercial Laser Technologies and Procedures, Electro-Optical Modules and Systems, Photonics in Medicine and Life Sciences, Laser Information Systems, Laser Information and Communication Technologies, Application of Electro-Optical Technologies, Education and Advanced Training in Photonics and Its Applications, Photonic Nanotechnologies, Photonics in agriculture and natural resources management. The sessions discussed the situation in the specific areas and the projects for the real sector of economy.
The Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics'2012 exhibition also incorporated the 18th Assembly of the Laser Association, which summarized the results of the Association work and approved the plans and tasks for the next two-year period.
For the first time business related programme of the exhibition represented The exposition of innovation projects in the field of photonics and physics of microwaves organized by the Physical Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University. It included research works in the field of nonlinear optics, nonlinear acoustics, laser physics, and nonlinear spectroscopy, medical laser physics, physics of oscillations, photonics and microwaves.
April 20 the business related programme of the Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics'2012 exhibition was concluded by the roundtable discussion devoted to the experience in arranging target programmes, competence centres, and scientific and production clusters in the field of photonics in Russian regions. The representatives of the regional laser centers and platforms shared their experience in cooperation with the authorities of different Russian regions.
The next edition of the Photonica. World of Lasers and Optics International Specialized Exhibition will be held April 16 – 19, 2013 at Expocentre Fairgrounds.
