Photonics 2022: experts discussed support measures for innovative business
The Panel on Ways of the Development of High-Tech Business under Current Conditions has taken place within the conference programme of Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics 2022 held at Expocentre Fairgrounds.
Representatives of companies related to the laser industry, such as TermoLazer, NT-MDT, LTV+, as well as experts of the State Budgetary Institution "Zelenograd Development Corporation" spoke at it. They discussed proposals for the development of high-tech industries in conditions of market isolation, realities and prospects of Russian vacuum and plasma technologies, as well as measures of support for innovative business and import-substituting knowledge-intensive industries.
Speaking about possible support measures Dmitry Chukhlantsev, CEO of TermoLazer Company that produces laser complexes, said that the primary task that all the laser industry enterprises are facing this year is to "adjust the clear understanding of the work with the customers of the subordinate government agencies - Rostec, Roscosmos, Rosatom, Ministry of Industry and Trade, etc." In his opinion, in the current circumstances it would be advisable to move to a clearer state planning of the industrial policy in the field of the laser industry.
Speaking at the panel, Ivan Kovsh, President of the Laser Association, noted that there is an urgent need today for a special targeted state programme on photonics. Such a programme "should be aimed at making maximum use of what we already have and at creating new production facilities for the high quality products, materials and components that we need".
Ivan Kovsh highlighted the importance of the Photonics exhibition at Expocentre Fairgrounds for the development of the laser industry. The exhibition serves as a platform for finding partners and customers. According to the conducted surveys, up to 90% of all orders for the coming year are received by exhibitors from small industrial enterprises as a result of business contacts at Photonics.
A series of scientific conferences on quantum technologies, metrology in photonics, laser and optoelectronic information systems, photonics in navigation and geodesy, fibre-optic communication lines and holographic technologies were also held today.
