Expocentre presents world of lasers and optics
The 14th edition of the Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics international exhibition has opened its doors at Expocentre Fairgrounds.
It is a major show of the latest achievements in modern laser, optical and optoelectronic technologies in Russia and Eastern Europe. The show is organised by Expocentre AO in cooperation with the Russian Laser Association.
The moderator of the Photonics 2019 opening ceremony, Deputy Director General of Expocentre AO Vladimir Gubernatorov expressed deep gratitude for the support of the trade show on the part of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the State Committee of Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC), and the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Photonics runs under the auspices of the CCI of Russia.
This year the latest developments and original solutions will be showcased by 200 companies from Russian and other 12 countries. The national pavilions have been arranged by Germany, China, and Belarus.
Russia, that is among the world leaders in the field of laser and optoelectronic technologies, is presented at Photonics 2019 by 140 companies, organisations, and leading R&D institutes.
Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dmitry Kurochkin spoke at the opening ceremony and called Photonics one of the most prestigious forums that brought together professionals in photonics and manufacture of laser technologies. According to him, the trade show accompanying events have always been highly productive and efficient. He expressed confidence that the results achieved at the trade show this year would be even higher.
President of the Russian Laser Association Ivan Kovsh said that the Days of Photonics in Russia started with the opening of Photonics. For a few days the trade show will be the centre of all contacts, meetings and discussions. He emphasized that up to 80% of all annual contracts were signed at the Photonics exhibition,.
As Director of the Department of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Dmitry Kapranov stated in his address, the trade show had proved to be a key industry event. The number of its visitors and exhibitors is steadily increasing. The exhibition space is growing. It testifies to the interest in photonics technologies and their importance for economic development of the country is increasing, he stated.
The prospects of photonics development in our country and worldwide will be discussed at the supporting events during the trade show. There will be held more than 20 conferences, round tables, seminars as well as prestigious competitions and other events important for the industry.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation Yury Mikhailov, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federal Assembly Andrey Vetluzhskikh, First Deputy Director General of Shvabe Sergey Popov, and Director General of EPIC, European Photonics Industry Consortium Carlos Lee also congratulated the participants, visitors and organisers on the opening of the Photonics 2019 exhibition.
