02 / 04 / 2021

A panel on this topic has been held within the accompanying programme of the Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics 2021 International Exhibition at Expocentre Fairgrounds. The event is organised by Rastr-Technology and the Science and Technology Council of Laser Association.

Evgeny Kulbatsky, General Director of Rastr-Technology, member of the Laser Association Council, noted that entrepreneurship in the field of photonics had one peculiarity. This industry was formed under conditions of parity in the field of laser technology and equipment with the Americans. Our state has done the most important thing with regard to photonics: it has educated qualified professionals.

According to the expert, photonics is one of the most successful entrepreneurial projects in Russia. At the same time, he stressed the role of small enterprises, which now make up the largest part of the Laser Association's members. The level of their developments, including those in the military-industrial complex, which have reached the stage of implementation, has risen sharply.

Alina Tsepenko, Director of the Department for Supporting Innovative Enterprises and Projects at AIRKO, spoke about interaction with development funds and institutions and measures to support innovative enterprises using specific examples from the Kaluga Region.

Representatives of the ARS-Patent agency of patent attorneys informed the panel participants in detail about the protection of intellectual property for new developments.
