A cooperation agreement was signed today at Expocentre Fairgrounds between the Professional Skills Development Agency (WorldSkills Russia) and EXPOCENTRE AO. The parties agreed on consolidation of the efforts for organisation of the WorldSkills Russia competition and training platforms at the Expocentre’s own exhibitions.

The Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics International Exhibition for Laser, Optical and Optoelectronic Technologies hosts an open training session for the WorldSkills Russia participants in the competency “Laser Technologies” of the Future Skills block.

Future Skills is one of the priority initiatives of WorldSkills Russia, designed to train specialists in professions that are promising in the labour market. The development of this field is driven by the global changes in technologies and production.

Anna Sadovnichaya, Acting Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO, said during the signing ceremony that "it is hard to think of a more appropriate venue for organising professional skills competitions than industry exhibitions. Therefore, we are confident that we are doing a necessary and useful thing, promoting a wide range of engineering and working professions, developing professional communities, promoting advanced standards of training and professional improvement".

For his part, Alexey Tymchikov, Deputy Director General and Technical Director of the Professional Skills Development Agency (WorldSkills Russia), noted that “WorldSkills actively supports high-tech and industry professions. Especially it concerns competencies and skills that are in most demand and expected in the labour market – the professions of the future. We actively promote them among young people and in industry, discovering and demonstrating innovations to society. Expocentre actively assists us in this work, organising clear and striking presentations of high technology in a simple and accessible way”.
